English Presessional courses for students with conditional offers

Every year, over 800 overseas students, approximately 30% of the University’s annual international intake, attend EISU’s Presessional programmes. Successful completion of all Presessional course components allows students to progress onto their academic programme without having to retake IELTS. These courses help international students improve their academic English before they begin their academic studies and include longer year round courses, intensive courses running from May to September and shorter 10-week and  6-week courses.

English Presessional courses for students with unconditional offers

EISU runs a 4-week intensive course for unconditional students in August/September.

English support for current international students

EISU provides free English language services to international students who are currently studying on postgraduate, undergraduate or foundation courses at the University of Birmingham.
