Visit Us

Open Day

When choosing a university you will find it very useful to visit the campus to view firsthand the facilities, to take in the atmosphere and to speak to current students and staff. If you are in the UK, you are very welcome to visit the University of Birmingham.

We have many opportunities for you to visit throughout the year and would encourage you to try and visit on one of our Open Days ( see further information below). If this is not possible, you can visit at any time and we will be happy to organise a schedule for you.

If you plan to visit the University independently or for any of the events listed below, please do contact the Birmingham Foundation Academy at least one week in advance, so that we can help you to make the most of your day.

To book on to any of the events listed above:

Undergraduate Open Day

Our Undergraduate Open Days offer you the perfect opportunity to hear first-hand from our current students and teaching staff about living and learning at Birmingham. Explore our campus, our facilities and special attractions including The Barber Institute of Fine Arts and the University Library on these days and get a taste of campus life. Individuals, families and school parties are very welcome to attend.

Our next Undergraduate Open days in 2015 will be:

  • 26 and 27 June 2015
  • Saturday 12 September 2015
  • Saturday 17 October 2015

Please note: Registrations for 2015 open days will open in the New Year

Individual Visit

If you cannot come to the University on one of our Open Days, you can visit at any time and we will be happy to organise a BFA schedule for you, this can be tailored to your interests and will be designed and sent to you before your visit; as long as you have registered your visit with us at least one week in advance.

To book your Individual BFA visit, please complete the online registration form.

If this is not possible, we encourage you to come on Tuesdays and Thursdays, when our guided campus tours take place at 11.00am and 2.00pm. Tours are conducted by students currently studying at the University, who will give you an insight into being a student at Birmingham.

Please note: that these tours do not include visits to individual departments or halls of residence.

Visiting the City

Birmingham is a cosmopolitan and vibrant city with plenty of cultural and social opportunities. If you are visiting the University, you should also consider allowing time to visit the City of Birmingham.
