University of Birmingham and Czech Republic

We have a long tradition of welcoming students from Czech Republic. There are currently 18 students from the Czech Republic following a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University.

Holders of the Vysvedceni o Maturitni Zkousce-Zkouška / Maturita with a minimum overall score of 2/5 will be considered for entry to the first year of our undergraduate degree programmes.

Grade equivalencies are as follows:
A*AA: 1 overall
AAB: 1.5 overall 
ABB-BBB: 2 overall  

Specific subject requirements:
A = 1
B = 2


Holders of a good Bakalář, or a good pre-2002 Magistr, from a recognised Czech Higher Education institution with a minimum GPA of 1.5, B, velmi dobře ‘very good’ (post-2004) or 2, velmi dobře ‘good’ (pre-2004), for 2:1 equivalence, or 2.5, C, dobře ‘good’ (post-2004) or 3, dobře ‘pass’ (pre-2004) for 2:2 equivalence, will be considered for entry to taught postgraduate programmes.

Holders of a good Bakalář from a recognised Czech Higher Education institution with a minimum GPA of 1.5, B, velmi dobře ‘very good’ (post-2004) or 2, velmi dobře ‘good’ (pre-2004), or a good post-2002 Magistr (Masters), will be considered for entry to postgraduate research programmes.

English Language
