University of Birmingham and Greece

We have a long tradition of welcoming students from Greece. There are currently 120 Greek students following a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University.


Entry requirements

The following information is for guidance only and should be used together with the University's general entrance requirements and any specific degree programme requirements.

Undergraduate

Holders of the National Apolytirion (Apolytirio Eniaio Lykeio) with a good overall score of 18+/20 will be considered for entry to the first year of most of our undergraduate degree programmes.

Please refer to the information below as guidance for grade comparisons to A-level entry requirements:

AAA - AAB: 19/20 overall in the Apolytirion
ABB - BBB: 18/20 overall in the Apolytirion

Specific subject requirements: 

A = 19/20
B = 18/20

English proficiency: recognised proficiency test required

Postgraduate

Holders of a good four-year Ptychio (Bachelor degree) from a recognised Greek university (AEI) with a minimum GPA of 7.0 out of 10.0 for 2:1 equivalence, or 5.0 out of 10.0 for 2:2 equivalence, or a good four-year Ptychio from a recognised Technical Higher Education institution (TEI) with a minimum GPA of 8.0 out of 10.0 for 2:1 equivalence, will be considered for entry to taught postgraduate programmes.

Holders of a good four-year Ptychio (Bachelor degree) from a recognised Greek university (AEI) with a minimum GPA of 7.0 out of 10.0, or a good Metaptychiako Diploma Eidikefsis (Masters degree) from a recognised Greek university, will be considered for entry to postgraduate research programmes.


English Language

You will be required to provide evidence of your English ability. Please view the entry requirements for specific programme requirements.
