University of Birmingham and Greece

We have a long tradition of welcoming students from Greece. There are currently 152 Greek students following a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University.

Holders of the National Apolytirio (Apolytirio Eniaio Lykeio) will be considered with the following grade equivalencies: 

A*AA - 19.3 
AAA - 19.2 
AAB - 19.1 
ABB - BBB - 19 

Specific subject requirements (required both within the Apolytirio and as a Panhellenic exam): 
A* - 19.4 
A - 19.2 
B - 19 

English proficiency: recognised proficiency test required


Holders of a good four-year Ptychio (Bachelor degree) from a recognised Greek university (AEI) with a minimum overall grade of 6.5 out of 10.0 for 2:1 equivalence, or 5.0 out of 10.0 for 2:2 equivalence, or a good four-year Ptychio from a recognised Technical Higher Education institution (TEI) with a minimum overall grade of 8.0 out of 10.0 for 2:1 equivalence, will be considered for entry to taught postgraduate programmes.

Holders of a good four-year Ptychio (Bachelor degree) from a recognised Greek university (AEI) with a minimum overall grade of 6.5 out of 10.0, or a good Metaptychiako Diploma Eidikefsis (Masters degree) from a recognised Greek university, will be considered for entry to postgraduate research programmes.

English Language

You will be required to provide evidence of your English ability. Please view the entry requirements for specific programme requirements.
