We have a long tradition of welcoming students from Hungary. There are currently 26 Hungarian students following a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University.

Undergraduate

Holders of the Erettségi / Matura with at least two subjects at advanced level (emelt szint) plus any required subjects at advanced level will be considered with the following grade equivalencies: 

A*AA - 85%, 80% (Advanced level) plus 80%, 80%, 80% (Intermediate level) 
AAA - 80%, 80% (Advanced level) plus 80%, 80%, 80% (Intermediate level) 
AAB - 80%, 80% (Advanced level) plus 80%, 80%, 80% (Intermediate level) 
ABB - 80%, 75% (Advanced level) plus 80%, 80%, 80% (Intermediate level) 
BBB - 75%, 75% (Advanced level) plus 80%, 80%, 75% (Intermediate level) 

Subject specific requirements (Advanced level): 
A* - 85% 
A - 80% 
B - 75%

Postgraduate

Holders of a good Alapfokozat / Alapképzés (Bachelors degree) or Egyetemi Oklevel (university diploma) from a recognised Hungarian university, or a Foiskola Oklevel (college diploma) from a recognised college of Higher Education, with a minimum overall grade of 3.51 for 2:1 equivalency, or 2.51 for 2:2 equivalency, will be considered for entry to taught postgraduate programmes. 

Holders of a good Alapfokozat / Alapképzés or Egyetemi Oklevel from a recognised university with a minimum overall grade of 3.51, or a good Mesterfokozat (Masters degree) or Egyetemi Doktor (university doctorate), will be considered for entry to postgraduate research programmes.

English Language

You will be required to provide evidence of your English ability. Please view the entry requirements for specific programme requirements.

If you do not have the required level of English or would like to improve your English before the start of the academic year, you can take one of our pre-sessional English language courses.

Funding

For undergraduate study, EU students can apply for a tuition fee loan from the British Government.

For taught and research Masters courses, EU students (subject to meeting the eligibility criteria) can apply for a postgraduate loan of up to £10,280 for the 2017-18 academic year.
