Student societies

Many nationality groups form student societies during their time at the University of Birmingham. This is an excellent way to keep in contact with home and also provides an opportunity to highlight your culture and customs in the UK.

Student societies are also a useful point of contact for prospective students to Birmingham who may want to contact current students for information.

For a full list of student societies please visit the Birmingham Guild of Students website.

Jawad Fadhel Abulhasan "I chose the University of Birmingham because it is one of the best universities in UK in my research area of interest. The most challenging part of my course so far has been getting started and being on track. Networking with others. I live outside the University campus. The accommodation is nice, clean and secure. What I like about the City of Birmingham is that it is multicultural and safe. I play for the School football team and The Village FC.
The advice that I would give to students thinking of studying in the UK would be to be prepared for the challenges and fun. The most attractive things about the University of Birmingham are that it has the best student-staff network and the best help and support."
