University of Birmingham and Latvia

We welcome students from Latvia. There are currently 16 Latvian students following a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University.


Entry requirements

The following information is for guidance only and should be used together with the University's general entrance requirements and any specific degree programme requirements.

Undergraduate

Candidates from Latvia generally require either A levels, an IB Diploma or a recognised foundation programme qualification in order to be considered for entry to the first year of an undergraduate degree programme. Holders of the Atestats par visparejo videjo izglitibu (Certificate of General Secondary Education) are not eligible for entry to the first year of our undergraduate degree programmes.

Postgraduate

Holders of a good pre-2000 Magistrs or post-2000 Bakalaurs from a recognised university, or a good Postgraduate Diploma (professional programme) from a recognised university or institution of Higher Education, with a minimum GPA of 7-8 out of 10 for 2:1 equivalence, or 6 out of 10 for 2:2 equivalence, will be considered for entry to taught postgraduate programmes.

Holders of a good Postgraduate Diploma (professional programme) from a recognised university or institution of Higher Education, with a minimum GPA of 7-8 out of 10, or a post-2000 Magistrs, will be considered for entry to postgraduate research programmes.


English Language

You will be required to provide evidence of your English ability. Please view the entry requirements for specific programme requirements.
