University of Birmingham and Lithuania

We have a long tradition of welcoming students from Lithuania. There are currently 40 Lithuanian students following a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University.


Entry requirements

The following information is for guidance only and should be used together with the University's general entrance requirements and any specific degree programme requirements.

Undergraduate

Holders of the Brandos Atestatas (Secondary School Diploma/Maturity Certificate) with a minimum overall score of 9/10 in the School-level exams and 80/100 in the State-level exams will be considered for entry to the first year of our undergraduate degree programmes. At least three State-level exams need to be passed with good grades.

Please refer to the information below as guidance for grade comparisons to A-level entry requirements:

A*AA - AAB: 10/10 in the Brandos Atestatas to include a minimum of three state examinations at 90% in each.
ABB - BBB: 9/10 in the Brandos Atestatas to include a minimum of three state examinations at 80% in each.

Specific subject requirements:
A* = 95%
A = 90%
B = 80%

Postgraduate

Holders of a good Bakalauras (post 2001), Profesinis Bakalauras (post 2001) or pre-2001 Magistras from a recognised university with a minimum GPA of 8-9 out of 10 (or 4 out of 5) for 2:1 equivalence, or 7-8 out of 10 for 2:2 equivalence, will be considered for entry to taught postgraduate programmes.

Holders of a good pre-2001 Magistras from a recognised university with a minimum GPA of 8-9 out of 10 (or 4 out of 5), or a good post-2001 Magistras, will be considered for entry to postgraduate research programmes.


English Language

You will be required to provide evidence of your English ability. Please view the entry requirements for specific programme requirements.
