The University of Birmingham welcomes applications from students from Syria. A growing number of Syrian students are studying undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at Birmingham in a range of disciplines.

Entry requirements

The following information is for guidance only and should be used together with the University's general entrance requirements and any specific degree programme requirements. 

Birmingham Foundation Academy

Students who have an overall average of 80% or above in the Thanewiyah (to include 80% or above in Mathematics for the Engineering and Physical Sciences pathway) will normally be considered for entry to the Foundation Programme before progressing to their chosen undergraduate degree programme.

Undergraduate

The University will consider students who have taken GCE A Level examinations, the International Baccalaureate (IB), or a suitable foundation programme, such as the Birmingham Foundation Academy, for entrance to undergraduate programmes. 

Postgraduate

Holders of a good four year honours degree from a recognised university may be considered for postgraduate study at the University of Birmingham.


English Language

You may be required to provide evidence of your English ability. Please view the entry requirements for specific programme requirements.
