The University of Birmingham welcomes applications from students from Argentina. A growing number of Argentine students are studying undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at Birmingham in a range of disciplines.

Entry requirements

The following information is for guidance only and should be used together with the University's general entrance requirements and any specific degree programme requirements. 

Foundation Pathway

For entry to our foundation programme, the Birmingham Foundation Academy, we would consider students who have obtained an average of 7/10 in the Título de Bachillerato (High School Leaving Certificate) to include at least 7/10 in Mathematics for our Engineering and Physical Sciences pathway or at least 7/10 in Biology for our MLGS pathway, that progresses to a Biology focused degree.

The University will consider students who have taken GCE A Level examinations and the International Baccalaureate (IB) for entrance to undergraduate programmes.

Holders of the Bachillerato together with a recognised foundation programme, such as the Birmingham Foundation Academy, will be considered for entry to our Bachelor degree programmes.


Holders of the Licenciado or an equivalent professional title from a recognised Argentinian university, with a promedio of at least 7.5, may be considered for entry to a postgraduate degree programme. Applicants for PhD degrees will normally have a Maestria or equivalent.

English Language

You may be required to provide evidence of your English ability. Please view the entry requirements for specific programme requirements.
