All alumni are invited to attend the annual Guild of Graduates and Alumni Association Forum and AGM, which this year is taking place on Saturday 8 September. Coinciding with the University's Open Day, you will have the opportunity to visit the departments and facilities open during the morning prior to the day's forum, '2012 Olympics, aspects of the University's involvement.'
The Association's Annual General Meeting will begin with coffee in the School of Chemical Engineering at 11am, followed by Dr Martin Strangwood, Senior Lecturer in the School of Metallurgy and Materials, who will be speaking on 'London - London: material science and technology in the Olympics between 1948-2012'.
The 105th AGM will take place at 12.30pm and then the forum will conclude with Zena Wooldridge OBE, Director of Sport who will be talking on 'Birmingham's Olympic experience,' following our success in helping the world's fastest man make history, Zena will provide an overview of our Olympic legacy, which will be followed by tea.
We hope that you will be able to join us. A booking form with the day's programme is available online. Please note that the deadline has been extended to 28 August 2012. You can also view the programme below. Your family members are welcome to join us for all events.
All graduates of the University are automatically members of the Guild of Graduates and Alumni Association and through their presence on University Court, the interests and opinions of all Birmingham graduates and alumni are represented at the University. The Association elects its own Officers and we welcome new members to get more involved. A nomination form can be found on the alumni website or obtained from the Head of Alumni Relations on 0121 414 7278 or alumnioffice@contacts.bham.ac.uk.
