On Monday 5th September, Professor Edward Peck, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Head of College of Social Sciences, hosted an alumni working dinner in Guangzhou. In addition to celebrating the launch of the University of Birmingham Guangzhou Centre, alumni attendees discussed how they felt the new centre could facilitate the University’s future engagement in China. Issues regarding employability were also explored, including opportunities for alumni in China to support international student mobility by way of mentoring, work placements and internships.
In particular, Professor Peck was delighted to hear from a number of alumni interested in forming and supporting a local alumni group and we would encourage all alumni interested in being involved in this to email the Alumni Office at email@example.com.
Details of any future activity in China will be posted on our website or sent out by email. If you did not receive an email invitation to this event it may be that we do not have up-to-date information for you. You can update your details at any time at www.your.bham.ac.uk or by calling +44 (0)121 414 2773.
