Saturday September 17th 2011 was a busy day at Shackleton Hall on The Vale. 1,400 students were arriving for their new life at the University of Birmingham, and a small gathering of wide-eyed fifty-somethings were having a tour. Not only had the name changed from their arrival day (Lake-Wydd as was, 37 years ago), but so too had the level of luxury. Monty Python's 'Four Yorkshiremen Sketch' came to mind.... To say we were impressed doesn't quite convey our astonishment!
Then nearly 50 of us had a really enjoyable dinner at Hornton Grange in the evening. To come together again after so long was quite extraordinary.
