During an impromptu visit to Hong Kong, Claire O’Sullivan, Head of Alumni Relations, had the great pleasure of meeting alumni in the stylish surroundings of Le188 at the Harbour Grand Hotel. More than 30 alumni turned out to meet with fellow alumni and to show their University of Birmingham pride. The evening also provided an opportunity to find out more about the active Hong Kong alumni group led by David Ho (BEng Civil Engineering, 2006). All alumni are welcome to join and this is a great way to continue to network with fellow graduates. Please do get in touch with the group if you would like to find out more.
Alumni were keen to share their stories of their time at Birmingham – involvement in student societies and athletic clubs, staying in halls of residences and favourite spots on campus. We were also joined by a prospective student due to arrive on campus for the first time in October 2013. Alumni were keen to bring the prospectus to life by recounting their times at Birmingham and sharing their wisdom of moving to the UK and beginning their studies at Birmingham.
To find out more about Claire’s trip to Hong Kong and the alumni team’s other international trips visit the team’s ‘Out and About’ blog page. Photos of the evening can be found below. Thank you to Jasper Chung (BSc Accounting and Finance, 2006) from the alumni group for sharing his photos with us.
All alumni that live in Hong Kong were sent an invitation by email. If you didn’t hear from us it may be that we have lost touch with you. Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.your.bham.ac.uk to update your details.
