Access to Birmingham (A2B) scholarships

Access to higher education should be based on academic, not financial, ability.

Access to Birmingham (A2B) helps to ensure that the most able and determined students can benefit from a university education, regardless of their personal or financial circumstances.

Adnan Shabir, Access to Birmingham Scholar "The benefits I have experienced as a direct cause of the A2B scholarship are immeasurable and will be forever remembered."

A2B Scholarships are offered to students who achieve the prospectus offer for grades and meet excellent academic standards through the University’s Higher Education Learning Module. The A2B scheme was created in 2000 and has subsequently gained strength and effectiveness, with increasing numbers both of applicants and successful scholarship students.

Postgraduate scholarships

Help make Birmingham the destination of choice for the best young researchers in the world.

Postgraduate scholarships are vital to support a stream of excellence through which the brightest and best students can progress to doctoral research and taught postgraduate studies at the University. Yet a recent survey of nearly 2,000 students on 130 university campuses showed graduates leave university with about £4,000 debt for every year spent on a degree course. Such debt dissuades the next generation of researchers and specialists, even potentially removing further study as an option.

Your support will help inquisitive minds with a passion for research to develop without the fear of debt.
