Soccer bookings show ethnic discrimination

The behaviour seen on Premier League football pitches is indicative of the attitudes of wider society according to Dr James Reade, whose research collaboration with colleagues at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge has revealed that referees are more likely to unwittingly discriminate against certain ethnic groups than others.

Two of our outstanding alumni have been named in BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour Top 100 Powerful Women in the UK Today list, the first of its kind. Cilla Snowball CBE (BA French, 1981) and Jude Kelly OBE (BA Drama and Theatre Arts, 1975) join HM The Queen, JK Rowling OBE and Victoria Beckham in the list of powerful, intellectual and inspirational women as voted for by the public and chosen by a panel.
