The Council's constitution, powers and terms of reference are set out in article 9 of the University's Royal Charter (PDF - 36KB) and in section 9 (PDF - 14KB) and section 14 (PDF - 54KB) of the Statutes of the University.
The Council annually adopts a ‘Code of Practice on Corporate Governance and Related Procedural Matters’ (PDF - 140KB) which sets out the Council’s primary responsibilities and provides a foundation for the work of Council and its committees.
