Remuneration Committee

The Committee meets annually in September and thereafter as and when required.

Terms of reference

(a) To review and determine annually the salary, terms and conditions (and where appropriate severance payment) of the Vice-Chancellor and Principal, it being understood that the Vice-Chancellor and Principal will withdraw when these matters are under consideration

(b) To consider annually the recommendations of the Vice-Chancellor and Principal concerning the salaries (and where appropriate, the severance payments from time-to-time) of those staff of the University whose remuneration by the University has to be reported in the University's annual accounts, it being understood that the Registrar and Secretary will withdraw when his or her own remuneration is under consideration

(c) To seek, as appropriate, comparative information on salaries and other emoluments and conditions of service in the university sector and elsewhere

(d) To monitor strategic risks relevant to the work of the Committee as determined by the Strategic Risk Register

(e) To monitor the extent to which value for money is achieved within the areas under the Committee’s oversight

(f) To monitor relevant Key Performance Indicators and to ensure that any concerns with performance against these KPIs are addressed
