Description
Jo Ind

Jo Ind

Join journalist and writer Jo Ind for a reflection on midlife. The period of life when we are nearer to death than to birth can be a time of crisis, loss and a surprising invitation to a new way of being.

Jo uses poetry, Jungian literature and the art of Birmingham artist Jake Lever to explore the golden years euphemistically known as middle age.

Formerly special correspondent on The Birmingham Post, Jo is the author of Memories of Bliss, a book about sexuality and spirituality, and Fat is a Spiritual Issue, about eating disorders.

This event is presented by Cultural Engagement in partnership with Writing West Midlands as part of Arts & Science Festival 2014, a week long celebration of ideas, research and collaboration across campus. For details of the full programme, visit:www.birmingham.ac.uk/artsandsciencefestival.
