Black History Month: Poetry & Short Story Competitions

Celebrating Black History Month 2015

Join in with the spirit of Black History Month by composing a poem about someone who has inspired you or influenced your life. Entries will be judged and prizes awarded by the Black History Month Committee. Please submit your entry under the following age categories: under 12s, age 13-17 and over 18s. Poems should be emailed to blackhistorymonth@contacts.bham.ac.uk.

Write a 800 word short story: autobiographical, based on a historical/contemporary figure, humorous, serious or topical, with reference to some aspect of Black History Month.
