The United States has more prisoners than any other country in the world, whether democracy or dictatorship. The country has 5% of the world's population, but houses over 25% of all the world's prisoners. Over 75% of the prisoners in the USA are Black/African America, while another 600,000 are Latino.
Organised by the Guild Black Ethnic Minority Association (BEMA), Lorenzo Komboa Ervin and JoNina Ervin are black radical organisers in the USA who will speak on the struggle against mass imprisonment, fascism, and building an international solidarity movement.
