CCCS1968-9Report

From the styles of the mods, rockers and ‘biker-boys’ to girls’ magazines, pop music and the Crossroads soap-opera, the Birmingham Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies pioneered the study of ‘mass’ culture.  Drawing on a recently-established archive of Centre material at the Cadbury Research Library, this lecture by Dr Kieran Connell, examines the key moments in the Centre’s development and its innovative approach to academic research on the 50th anniversary of its establishment.
