Alba Fedeli, doctoral researcher in ITSEE, investigates how a few early Qur’anic fragments came from Egypt to Birmingham when Edward Cadbury opened a new library for the city in the 1930s. This talk accompanies the exhibition 'Calligraphy in the Islamic World' at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (2 November 2013 - 26 January 2014)
