Celebrating LGBT History Month 2013

February 2013 is LGBT History Month. Across campus there will be a range of exhibitions, film nights and talks celebrating the history of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans communities. Students, staff and visitors from outside of the University are all welcome to attend. LGBT History Month 2013 has been curated by the staff LGBTQ Rainbow Network, Barber Institute of Fine Arts and the Cadbury Research Library: Special Collections.

Postgraduate LGBTQ introductory chat - 14 February

To kick off LGBT History month 2013, we're holding a discussion group for postgraduate students identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and/or otherwise queer.
This is a great opportunity to discuss issues important to you, with students in the same situation as you. We're eager to hear your experiences as an LGBTQ student studying at a postgraduate level - positive or negative. How has your time at Birmingham been so far? Is there anything you would change?
This is also an opportunity to get together and throw some ideas around on what we’d like to see happening in 2013. Film nights? Book club? Study group? Perhaps an LGBTQ-BBQ this summer? We'd love to hear all your suggestions.  We’d particularly like to hear from international, mature and part-time postgraduate students.
Thursday 14 February at 17:00, at 3 Elms Road reception – ring the bell outside if the front door is locked. There will be free tea, cake and coffee - looking forward to seeing you there!
If you would like some more information, have any difficulties getting to us, or would like to help organise the event, drop us an e-mail at birmingham.pg.lgbtq@gmail.com - or tweet us @UoB_PG_LGBTQ.
