Cake (Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange) Morning 31/07/2012

Tuesday 31st July was the first of our Monthly Cake Morning's and with cake fans from the DHD project, our PHD Students and Research Fellows, Senior Lecturers, Project Heritage Partners and regional SME's we had a great morning talking all things Digital Heritage!

It was great to see such a wide range of teams and individuals learning from the experiences we have all shared getting the first Demonstrator project into action. Jospeh Sivell, Senior Technical Developer

Vania Virgili, (Department of Cultural Heritage, Italian Council of National Research) 

Vania joined the team at the Hub on Monday 31st July to begin her 1 month, full time voluntary  position with us. Her presentation explored the different functions of the Italian CNR, her role and current European Funding and project Opportunities across the Heritage and Cultural Sectors. Worcester Hive Demo

Victoria Bryant from the Worcester HIVE and the DHD Technical team delivered a short demo of the new "Touch History" table, now installed at the new HIVE building in Worcester. For more information about the HIVE project please contact n.m.wood@bham.ac.uk

And of course there was cake! Today was Double Choc-Cookie Dough Brownies, Honey and Almond Loaf, Lemon and Poppy Seed Cupcakes, Coffee and Walnut Cake and Chocolate and Orange Cupcakes, all hand made by Nadia Wood, Project Manager. 

August Cake Morning

For our second do.cake morning Nadia Wood and Gino Bellavia will be sharing current possible collaboratove funding opportunities and bids, including an AHRC bid for Collaborative Skills Development (A project for Post Grads, and Early Careers Researchers to work with SME's through a voucher based scheme to undertake 3 month collaborative research projects).

September Cake Morning

For our third do.cake morning, Simon Hartely (Research Fellow) and Mohd Haffiz Hussain (PHD Student) will be giving a demo of their current research work around multi-touch applications with sensor tracking on our 65" touch table.
