Since May 2013 Anthony has been Project Manager of Smart Culture at University Of Birmingham based in the Digital Humanities Hub.
The project works with 13 European partners investigating the use of technology as a tool for audience enhancement and engagement in the Cultural/ Heritage sectors, investigating the economic models and developing strategies and recommendations for the European Commission for future investment in these sectors.
Anthony has over 25 years experience working commercially in many areas of the creative and cultural industries as both practitioner and in education & skills, business development and mentoring roles.
For the last 15 years, he has also held public sector positions on strategy boards and in supporting roles for creative SMEs supporting the economic and strategic development of creative and cultural industries, advising on creative, cultural and economic policy.
Digital Central a partnership between Birmingham City University and the Regional Development Agency AWM, where he coordinated the strategy and networks for developing the West Midlands Music & Radio industries. Screen WM The regional Film,TV & Digital agency; managing the regions screen audience development, cinema and festival exhibition, film/moving image archive and media education strategies, supporting a wide range of clients through the lottery investment fund.
He is Co-founding Director and Chair of Birmingham Music Network, now in its 14th year and Screen Image Network – both hosted at Millennium Point by BCU and contributing towards the wider strategic aims of Creative Network events.
