This historic conference marks the 50th anniversary of the discovery of EBV, the first human tumour virus. It will be held in Keble College, Oxford, exactly 50 years after the virus’ discovery was first announced by Epstein, Achong and Barr in a letter to The Lancet in March 1964. The conference will include invited reviews by current leaders in the field, plus selected oral presentations by junior investigators. Both days will include time for round table discussions and will finish with historical talks. Keynote speakers include Professor Sir Anthony Epstein, Professor George Klein and, to represent the Henle Laboratory, Nobel Laureate Harald zur Hausen.
