The University of Birmingham Unit of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics is a multi-disciplinary Unit for colleagues across the University to enhance bioethics teaching on all clinically orientated programmes. In collaboration with UNESCO, we are committed to ensure all graduates receive the appropriate opportunities to engage with the ethical nature of their future practice as health care professionals. We also collaborate with the Law School and the Centre for Global Ethics , proving the widest range of expertise for all students, staff and visitors to the University of Birmingham.
The Unit is also committed to enhancing Continuing Professional Development opportunities for qualified practitioners. It offers a wide range of bioethics and medico-legal CPD, delivered by national and international experts. Clinically orientated CPD is centred around a collaboration between academic and clinical expertise with the use of specially trained role players, providing delegates with the opportunity to apply their learning directly during the day.
