The Technology Hub brings to all its researchers the opportunity to access the latest technologies. In the hub you’ll find information on the large number of instruments and facilities available including Next Generation Sequencing, high speed cell sorting, qPCR, protein and antibody production, confocal microscopy and transgenic services.
There are also links to other facilities within the University, for example the Functional Genomics lab in Life and Environmental Sciences and the Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility. Most of the equipment is bookable online – you just need to register with the site to access the calendars. Where a facility is unavailable for online booking details of who to contact are given.
The Technology Hub also hosts regular lunch time meetings where invited companies or staff can talk about the latest technologies. It’s hoped these will stimulate ideas and alert us to future useful technology. These meetings are advertised across the College by email, the MDS Messenger and in the News section of this site.
