Our internship officers are available to talk to you about finding work experience; check out your college below on when you can meet them.

We also run special internship events and workshops to help you find work experience opportunities, apply for them, and make the experience count!

College of Arts and Law

Discuss with your College Internship Officer, Sarah Whiteley, how and where to look for work experience and internship opportunities, and how to go about securing funding. No need to book an appointment – just drop in!

College of Engineering and Physical Sciences

Harj Kundra, the internships officer for EPS, will be running two advice desk sessions each week during the autumn term. 

  • Thursdays, 14.00-15.00, in the Computer Science Library
  • Fridays, 11.00-12.00 in the 1st floor library, Civil and Mechanical Engineering Building

College of Life and Environmental Sciences

If you would like to book a one-to-one advice desk appointment to discuss work experience and internships, mentoring or the new range of University of Birmingham work experience bursaries available to undergraduate students this academic year, Jim Reali, the Internship Officer for LES, will be hosting two advice desk sessions each week.

  • Monday lunchtimes (12:30 – 13:30), three 20 minute slots are available in the Frankland Building, Psychology Undergraduate Common Room.
  • Thursday lunchtimes (12:30 – 13:30), three 20 minute slots are available in the Careers Hub, Undercroft (Biosciences/Geography).

Your internship officer, Kam Manku, will be running advice desk sessions in the Medical School every Friday from 11.00-12.00. Please come along to discuss anything to do with work experience or internships, including funding to support placements.

Find out how to find work experience and internship opportunities by attending Natasha Kerven's advice desk, which takes place at the careers desk in Muirhead Tower foyer, 12.00-13.00 (opposite Starbucks) every Monday in term time.
