Internship Appointments

Each college has its own dedicated internship officer that can help you with:

  • Advice and guidance on finding placements – including internships, work experience, volunteering and placement years
  • Funding – work experience bursaries to help with low paid/unpaid opportunities
  • Other careers network support services – mentoring schemes, careers advice, applications & CV checking, mock interviews.

College of Arts and Law

Your internship officer is Ruth Millington, and will be available to meet you:

  • Tuesdays, 12:30 - 13:30 at the CAL Careers Drop In, just outside the Mason Lounge in the Arts Building.

No appointment needed.

College of Engineering and Physical Sciences

Your internship officer is Harj Kundra, and will be available to meet you:

  • Thursdays, 14.00-15.00, in the Computer Science Library
  • Fridays, 11.00-12.00 in the 1st floor library, Civil and Mechanical Engineering Building

Your internship officer is Helen Hobson and will available to meet you:

  • Monday lunchtimes (12:30 – 13:30), three 20 minute slots are available in the Careers Hub, Sportex Atrium, Sports & Exercise Science.
  • Thursday lunchtimes (12:30 – 13:30), three 20 minute slots are available in the Careers Hub, Undercroft (Biosciences/Geography).

Work Experience Week (30 January to 8 February 2017)

Work Experience Week consists of a range of events specifically to help you find, apply for and secure internship and work experience opportunities. This year we are also hosting workshops during week commencing 6th February. You’ll have the chance to 

  • explore the work experience routes you can get involved in 
  • gain insights into your options within specific sectors including healthcare, publishing, public services, scientific services and technology
  • get access to internship programmes only available to you 
  • receive hints and tips from students and employers on how to source opportunities successfully 

Throughout the week you will also have an opportunity to speak with employers directly about their work experience opportunities at our ‘Internship and Work Experience Fair’.
