Alumni Leadership Mentoring Programme

The Alumni Leadership Mentoring Programme offers students the opportunity to receive one-to-one mentoring from high profile Birmingham alumni throughout their final year.

About the mentors

Leadership mentors will offer practical advice on employability and support to students as they prepare to enter the workplace. Last year top leadership mentors signed up included former Chief Medical Officer Sir Liam Donaldson, Green Wing and Black Books actress Tamsin Greig, group commercial director of J Sainsbury’s Mike Coupe, former editor of the Wall Street Journal Europe Baroness Patience Wheatcroft and director of Mamma Mia! Phyllida Lloyd CBE. All mentors have offered their time for free to provide students with invaluable advice and support.

Sir Charles George mentored Chris Jones, Medicine & Surgery student; Erin-Jane Golding is a final year American & Canadian Studies student who is mentored by Cilla Snowball, Group Chairman and Chief Executive of advertising and communications company Abbott Mead Vickers (AMV). Edem Kwesi Dei is mentored by Martin Devenish, Partner and Managing Director at Goldman Sachs.
