Overview of mentors

Mentors on the scheme all are knowledgeable professionals; some are recent graduates and others more advanced in their careers. They have a variety of career backgrounds relating to all degree disciplines and can therefore offer a wealth of expertise that can help you get ahead when you graduate.

Below are the career types in which mentoring opportunities are available – please note this is not a definitive list; new career types may be added or withdrawn depending on availability from mentors. Should you have any queries about a mentor from a specific career type, please e-mail mentoring@contacts.bham.ac.uk.

Remember, even if you don’t get matched to a mentor from your preferred career, it’s still an invaluable experience. You’ll be tapping into experience and life lessons that are transferrable to any career. Regardless of what career you’re going into, who wouldn’t want to pick the brains of someone who’s been successful in their career?
