Dr Annemette Palmqvist

Dr. Annemette Palmqvist is Associate Professor in Ecotoxicology at Department for Environmental, Social and Spatial Change at Roskilde University. She has a PhD degree in Ecotoxicology and Molecular Biology, a M.Sc. in Environmental Physiology, and has more recently been working on experimental and modeling approaches to assess effects of toxic chemicals at the population level. The primary aim of her research is to find workable ways of adding more ecological relevance into environmental risk assessment of chemicals. She has specific expertise in the fate and effects of toxic chemicals in the aquatic environment, and is particularly interested in invertebrate populations and their interactions with the environment. She is currently also involved in the EU ITN project CREAM, which is focused on developing mechanistic effect models for use in ecological risk assessment of chemicals and includes development of principles for Good Modeling Practice.
