Male graduands
As well as academic dress, male graduands usually wear a dark suit, dress shirt, tie and dress shoes.
Female graduands
As well as academic dress, female graduands wear a dark skirt/trousers, white blouse and dark shoes.
The hood (which is part of your academic dress) is held in place by a loop that fits over a shirt button. If your blouse does not have buttons, consider bringing a pin or brooch to keep your hood in place.
Religious or cultural alternatives
Suitable alternatives to the male and female outfits suggested may be worn for religious and cultural reasons. Your outfit should always be formal.
Footware
Please bear in mind that you will be mounting and descending a number of platform steps, so wear sensible footwear.
