University of Birmingham and India
Research with global reach
We welcomed the first students from India to our Edgbaston campus in 1909 to study for degreees in mining and commerce. Since then we have provided education for more than 1000 Indian students including high ranking government officials. We continue to host a thriving population of Indian students on campus following a range of undergraduate, postgraduate taught and research programmes across all of our five Colleges.
Our engagement in India, including our ever growing research links, are supported by a dedicated office in the heart of New Delhi.
We have a long and proud history of engaging with Indian institutions and businesses, where the strengths of both sides combine to create impact in research, innovation and education.
