Course: Clinical medicine - MBChB

Abuajela Sreh   "I would describe myself as sociable, friendly and active.

Birmingham medical school is one of the well-known schools nationally and internationally with excellent clinical experience in more than 10 teaching hospitals providing healthcare services for around 1.6 million inhabitants.

University wise, it is an amazing opportunity to join societies alongside a very good and easily accessible sports centre.

Generally speaking, medicine is a demanding course! Having said this, once you get into the clinical years (years 3, 4, and 5), the course becomes more enjoyable especially with the hands-on experience that enables us to have a flavor of our future careers.

Personally, I think university accommodation is a highly-recommended option for new students, however once you make friends you would prefer to settle down in a privately rented house with people you have things in common with.

Birmingham is a multi-cultural society. I like meeting new people from different backgrounds, trying international cuisine and bridging the gaps between cultures. Also, there are a wide variety of options for shopping and plenty of stunning places to visit.

I have joined the sports centre membership for squash, the Arabic society, the Islamic society, the Islamic ethics society, I undertake other activities and travel arranged outside official societies.

There is a marvelous atmosphere to link up with local people as well as a great opportunity to meet with other international students from all over the world. There are plenty of social options and a very flexible lifestyle.

You still always be able to find food and cultural places that make you forget about being a foreigner!!

The University is a good multi-cultural community to mix with alongside the availability of food from all international cultures. It is a safe place to live in especially if you have a family. It is a beautifully-designed and located campus with a very easy access from and to town centre, shopping and accommodation areas."
