Entry requirements
The following information is for guidance only and should be used together with the University's general entrance requirements and any specific degree programme requirements.
Please note: If you have taken exams which are from another country's national education system (eg the Arbitur from Germany or SAT and AP exams from the USA) you should consult the country specific section for that country for qualification equivalence information. If you are unsure about the acceptability of your qualifications for entry to Birmingham please contact us for further details.

Undergraduate
|
The University will consider students who have taken A Level examinations and the International Baccalaureate (IB) for entrance to undergraduate programmes.
Students with good grades in their High School Certificate (M6) and a recognised one year foundation qualification may be considered for entry to an undergraduate degree programme.
Alternatively one or two years of university level study at a recognised university in Thailand may be considered for entry to an undergraduate degree programme. Students need to achieve a sufficiently high score overall in their university level study (3.0+/4.0).
Foundation Programme:
We accept students who have completed 12 years of education and the Maw 6 (M6) certificate and the national entrance examination for all state institutions (WEE - Written Entrance Examination) results. For our Foundation programme a good level of achievement is a minimum of 70% is required. For more information please visit the Birmingham Foundation Academy website

Postgraduate
|
Holders of a good Bachelor degree (minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0) from a recognised institution will be considered for postgraduate study at Diploma or Masters level.

English Language
|
You may be required to provide evidence of your English ability. The most commonly accepted qualifications are the IELTS exam (minimum scores from 6.0-7.0) and TOEFL (minimum from 550-600 paper based, 213-250 computer based or 80-100 Internet based). Minimum requirements vary according to the chosen programme. See the English language page for specific programme requirements.

Student societies
Many nationality groups form student societies during their time at the University of Birmingham. This is an excellent way to keep in contact with home and also provides an opportunity to highlight your culture and customs in the UK.
Student societies are also a useful point of contact for prospective students to Birmingham who may want to contact current students for information.

The University of Birmingham has many strong alumni groups all over the world. Alumni groups are an excellent way of keeping in contact with the University and with other graduates from Birmingham who live in your country. Some alumni groups meet on a regular basis for social and professional events.

"Although Birmingham is not a capital city, it is not second to any city in the UK I dare to say. You have everything you need in the city centre and it is less crowded compared to London.
The famous chocolate factory, Cadbury World is located near campus. Stratford-upon-avon, the origin of William Shakespeare is not too far away. There is a lot more waiting for you to find out.
