Visiting our libraries
Our Libraries offer support catered towards ‘A’ Level study and project research. Whether you are a teacher who would like to arrange training for your students, or you are a student who would like to come and study for the day, we welcome teachers and pupils at 'A' Level who would like to use our facilities. Find out about organising a visit.
Using library services in Summer 2016
The project to construct a new Main Library for the University is entering its final stages and the work of relocating the collection will start soon. Work to transfer stock will begin in earnest as soon as the summer examinations are over and from then on there will be much unavoidable disruption. Full detail is available on the Project pages.
As a result of the move to our new building we will be unable to accommodate any visits to the Main Library from the start of June through to the middle end of August this year as a large stock moving programme will be taking place prior to our New Library building opening in August, which means that floors will be closed.
We will, however, be able to arrange group visits to our new Main Library from October 2016 onwards, after University Welcome Week and the first week of term which are in September.
Information and research skills programmes
We offer a number of information and research skills programmes throughout the year, working with schools to provide teachers and students with the skills they need for research projects, and to offer an insight into studying at University. Find out about our skills training programme and outreach schemes.
Support for colleges
The University offers a number of activities to support schools and colleges. Find out about some of these opportunities
