The University Library has substantial collections of books to support the study of Canada and The USA. The main collections of American literature and criticism are in Zone 3C of the Main Library, while material on American history and society are principally in Zone 5D.
The collections are also strong on the study of Latin America.
The American studies collection has recently been enhanced by a substantial donation of books from the English Speaking Union, a section of which contains books sent from the USA as part of the Books Across the Sea project to present American culture to the world.
The Library subscribes to around 50 journal titles in this field of study.
Cadbury Research Library: Special Collections holds a number of important archive collections available for research. These include British Association for American Studies; Papers of Sir Evelyn Shuckburgh, (1909-1994), diplomat; and the archive of Beatrice Warde, (1900-1969), Vice-President of the British American Canadian Associates
