Main Library

The Main Library holds all of our major collections.

Geography

Material in this collection covers all aspects of human and physical geography. Strengths include hydrology and meteorology. Interdisciplinary research areas include economy, society and development. 

Earth Sciences

Earth Sciences material covers key texts required for courses in geology, environmental geoscience, palaeobiology and palaeoenvironments.

Environmental Sciences

Environmental Sciences material is held in the Main Library. Some key texts relating to ecology and conservation are also held in the Barnes Library. Material for postgraduate courses run by Environmental Health and Risk Management is largely held in the Main Library. This material includes key texts on air pollution and its management. Some public and occupational health material is held in the Barnes Library. Interdisciplinary research areas include nanotechnology.

The Map Library

There is a Map Library, managed by a specialist Map Curator, housed in the Geography building. For more information about how to access the Map Library, please contact the Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences School directly.

The Lapworth Museum of Geology

The Lapworth Museum of Geology is housed in the Aston Webb building, where Earth Sciences is based. The Museum has a Curator to manage the collections of rock specimens, maps and archives.
