A pre-concert talk will take place between 6.30pm and 7pm
This concert will will be given by Kenneth Hamilton on piano. Known for his virtuoso performances of Romantic music, especially Liszt, Alkan and Busoni, Hamilton's playing is characterised by spontaneity, a spectacular technique and a wide variety of keyboard colour. He is the author of Liszt: Sonata in B-minor, and after this performance he will be signing copies of his widely-publicised latest book, Afterthe Golden Age: Romantic Pianism and Modern Performance. The programme will include work from Chopin, Liszt, Alkan, Stevenson, Rachmaninov, Novello-Stevenson, Tauber-Stevenson and Wagner-Liszt.
