The University of Birmingham has been ranked 79th overall in the definitive list of Britain's most gay-friendly workplaces. Birmingham's position in the Stonewall Top 100 Employers 2015 sees an impressive rise of 180 places from last year, reflecting the University's ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive workplace.

REF confirms Birmingham's position amongst top research universities

Current Indonesian Ambassador to the United Nations (UN), His Excellency (H. E.) Dr Desra Percaya has received an honorary doctorate from the University of Birmingham, UK. Dr Percaya was named Doctor of the University (DUniv) on Thursday 11 December in the University's historic Great Hall, in the presence of hundreds of graduands and their families.
