The University of Birmingham has risen an impressive nine points in the latest world research rankings, placing it in 112th place among the top 500 global research universities. The Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities 2014, also known as the NTU Ranking, ranked Birmingham ninth overall in the UK.
