Trust, Diplomacy and Conflict Transformation - 13-17 April 2015
Description
The 2015 programme focused on how diplomats and negotiators can better develop empathy and trust through face-to-face encounters, and how this approach can lead to greater levels of success in transforming global conflicts. The programme examined a number of historical and contemporary examples of successful (and unsuccessful) face-to-face diplomatic encounters. In doing so, it explored the psychological context of how individuals signal intention, detect deception and assess the trustworthiness (or otherwise) of their diplomatic counterparts.

According to the fourth annual Universitas 21 Ranking of National Higher Education Systems, the United Kingdom is home to one of highest performing university systems in the world. The report places the UK second only to the United States for global research outputs, the quality of its best institutions, the impact of its research and the production of an educated workforce that meets labour market needs.
