An exhibition from Research and Cultural Collections uncovers the experience of Hans Schwarz, a Jewish Austrian refugee who escaped to Birmingham in 1939 via Kindertransport. The story of life in pre-war Vienna and Schwarz’s experiences as a young unaccompanied refugee are explored through archival material, objects and Schwarz’s own artwork.
Free exhibition, open to all
