Join the University of Birmingham for the launch of Black History Month - a month-long season of exhibitions, events, talks and concerts celebrating Caribbean, Asian and African cultures past and present.
Black History at Uob kicks off with a special screening of John Akomfrah’s Handsworth Songs (1986) - a groundbreaking film made in Birmingham and London in the wake of the 1985 inner city uprisings. Mukhtar Dar, Artistic Director of The Drum, who also features in the film, will talk about its history and legacy.
