Taking inspiration from Facing the Music: 20th-Century Portraits of British Composers at the Barber Institute of Fine Arts (Friday 25 May - Tuesday 28 August, admission free), this popular ensemble rounds off the 2012 Summer Festival of Music with a concert of 20th-century music, including Benjamin Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings.
Part of the Summer Festival of Music. The Summer Festival of Music has been running at the University of Birmingham for over 20 years. It is a week-long festival organised by students to create music-making opportunities for performers from across the University and the wide community. Each year the festival welcomes new participants in a variety of roles - from conductors, composers and the many members of the ensembles to the organising commitee - ensuring that there is something for everyone.
This year the Birmingham-based Edward's Trust is our charity partner.
