Birmingham's location in the heart of England makes it easy to reach no matter where you are travelling from. The venue for the conference is the University of Birmingham's Great Hall, which is situated at the Edgbaston Campus, in the Aston Webb Building.

Arriving by Train

The Edgbaston Campus is easily accessible via train with University Station just a 5 minute walk from the heart of the campus.

Up to 6 trains an hour depart from Birmingham New Street for the University via the cross-city line (final destinations Longbridge or Redditch) with a journey time of less than 10 minutes.

Arriving by Car

While the University is easily accessible via car please note that parking around the Edgbaston Campus can be limited as car parks are also used by staff and students.

Visitor Car Parking

Visitors to campus are requested to park in one of the University's pay and display car parks:

  • North East Multi Storey car park (access via Pritchatts Road) Sat Nav Postcode B15 2SA

  • Pritchatts Road Car Park (at the junction with Vincent Drive) Sat Nav Postcode B15 2QU

Directions to the University

Approaching from the north west or south east along the M6

  • Leave at Junction 6 (signposted Birmingham Central) to join the A38(M)
  • At the end of the motorway, keep to the right, go over a flyover, then through some underpasses to join the A38 Bristol Road
  • The University is on your right, two and a half miles from the city centre

Approaching from the M42 north:

  • Leave at Junction 8 to join the M6 northbound and follow the instructions above

Approaching from the south west:

  • Leave the M5 at Junction 4 signposted Birmingham SW) to join the A38
  • The University is approximately eight miles from the motorway

Approaching from the M40:

  • It is easier to turn south on the M42 and leave at Junction 1, heading north on the A38 Bristol Road
  • The University is approximately eight miles from the motorway

Arriving by Air

Birmingham Airport is just 5.5 miles south east of Birmingham city centre and is connected to Birmingham International Train Station by a free service operated by monorail.  Regular train services operate from there to Birmingham New Street where a connecting train to University Station can be caught (see Arriving by Train for more details).
