Borrow the best brains to inform your programmes
The Ideas Lab help TV, radio and multimedia producers find and use the latest research facilities and expertise in their programmes and websites.
Audiences in Britain and beyond have an appetite for documentaries and factual series rooted in the very latest research and produced in collaboration with world-class experts.
If you are a TV, radio or multimedia producer we can:
-
provide access to cutting edge facilities and equipment which could be used within a programme or developed as a regular format point within a series
-
host you on an ‘inspiration day’, showing you facilities you may wish to use, enabling you to try out equipment, and introducing you to key experts in the fields in which you’d like to develop programming, to kick off collaborative relationships
-
develop ideas in partnership with you, including doing research, writing proposals, and filming and editing taster tapes for you
-
link you up with partner organisations such as hospitals, charities, museums and funding bodies
-
suggest academics as editorial consultants, as expert interviewees, or as new presenting talent
-
attend meetings, run brainstorms and take part in pitches, at your offices or with broadcasters
-
provide you with postgraduate interns for a 3-month work placement, free of charge
